Shake Shack Finds New “Home” At Kerry Center

Burger lovers clear your agendas, because Shake Shack is back! After a passionate response from the Xintiandi community during the January launch in Shanghai that included a three-hour opening line, No. 1 position on Dianping, and thousands of ShackBurgers served for the first time in mainland China, Shake Shack is opening its second location at Jing’an Kerry Center this year.

Shake Shack will create a one-of-a kind “home” for the Kerry Center community, even before the restaurant opens. Construction is kicking off with an art mural by Judy Kai – an upcoming local talent – inspired by the translation of Kerry Center in Chinese as the word “home”. The mural depicts elements of the urban lifestyle of those who call Shanghai home including friends gathering, dating, yoga, skateboarding, jogging, graffiti, picnic, and dog walking, and incorporates elements of Shake Shack’s brand icons as Shake Shack prepares to make Kerry Center its new home in the city.

Shake Shack has curated a global “Creative Community”, working with artists in cities all around the world. When preparing for the launch in Shanghai, Shake Shack teamed up with Shanghainese artist Bruce Cui to create an art installation displaying Chinese characters “侬好”, Shanghainese for “Hello”, as Shake Shack prepared to say hello to the city for the first time.

Shake Shack is committed to providing equal opportunities for success, and fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion and empowerment to ensure that Shake Shack is a great place to eat and work.
