More Than Aware Family Fun Run, May 12, Century Park

The city will turn pink and green once again for the sixth annual More Than Aware Family Fun Run on Saturday, May 12th in Century Park. This year more than 3,000 women, men and children of all ages and cultures will be dressed in pink and green to help promote breast cancer prevention and recovery! More Than Aware, a Shanghai-based support club, empowers women to be proactive with their health and wellbeing in the prevention and recovery of Breast Cancer.

Last year, More Than Aware teamed up with Kerry Hotel Pudong, Jingan Shangri-La, Pudong Shangri-La and iMandarin. Top participant teams include Ford, Gap and Nike.
‘What’s your Green?’ is the More Than Aware’s tagline- asking individuals how they are taking breast cancer awareness into action. In other words- what is your personal wellness goal for the year? At each MTA family fun run, participants get to write their “Green” (or proactive wellness goal) on their shirt back, in place of a runner’s bib.

1000 local Chinese Breast Cancer Thrivers from the Shanghai Cancer Recovery Club, sponsored largely by corporate teams and individuals, will also join the run. There will be music, kids’ activities and fun awards such as “Most Pink and Green Team” and “The Largest Team”. Pink and green donation boxes will be in the park for cash donations.

ABOUT MORE THAN AWARE: More Than Aware is MORE than a pink ribbon. It is a pink and green wellness revolution that transforms breast cancer awareness into action. MTA is a global support group amplifying the prevention and recovery side of Breast Cancer, empowering a healthy lifestyle.

100% of the donations go towards MTA’s partner, Shanghai Cancer Recovery Club. SCRC has a documented 90% recovery rate from breast cancer, which is one of the highest in the world. This 90% recovery rate is from focusing on wellness from within, a proactive prevention lifestyle and sisterhood support. Consequently, SCRC is an experimental site for the World Health Organization and Harvard University. For more information, please visit www.morethanaware.com.
