A gorgeous villa nestled in Moganshan hills, personally built with care by family owners. Hiking and biking right outside the door, and a large terrace for outdoors BBQs and relaxing.
Distance from Shanghai: Three hours drive (or train to Deqing County and car collection)

Location: Away from other guesthouses and people, this is tucked into a valley in Moganshan with walking areas right outside the door.
Hotel: The owner, Sunny, is from Shanghai. He was sick of city life so moved his family to Moganshan to enjoy a more natural experience. He built the whole thing with love and care.
It’s not a hotel, but a smaller, 15 room guesthouse. While the food is a little underwhelming, you can still order wood-fired pizza and a huge variety of beers and wines.
Rooms: The rooms are very nice, and the service is excellent because it’s homely and family style.
Overall: This is a perfect visit at any time of the year, because even in Winter the guesthouse is warm and cosy, and Moganshan gets snow. You should ideally visit in Spring or Autumn, but even in the Summer heat or Winter cold it makes a great break from Shanghai.
