There are Christmas markets in Shanghai, there is festivity, there is cold, I need pies.
No other food gives you such a hug, and tells you I’m here for you, winter will be OK. Eat me darling.
I suppose the last sentence there was a bit weird, but anyway. I love pies.
The best pies in China are sold right here in Shanghai, at Pie Society. Pie Society has special Christmas flavours.
Pie Society is not only a nice little restaurant that does pies, full English breakfasts and more, but it’s one of our favourite Sherpa’s orders (yes we know ele.me or whatever is probably more cool, but it’s just a food delivery service. Calm down.).
The price and what you receive makes it ideal for home delivery on an unfriendly wintry evening.
To the pies!:
“MERRY BERRY” pie is a whole mix of Christmassy flavours. It’s made with turkey, bacon, layered with a traditional sage, onion, cranberry and chestnut stuffing, slow cooked in a delicious port & sherry gravy.
“MOO-STELTOE” features Angus beef, parsnip, carrot, slow-cooked in red wine and port gravy.
Pie Society hasn’t forgotten the vegetarians! The “NUTCRACKER” is the soul-warming vegetarian pie that’s filled with chestnut, parsnip, chickpea, spinach, smothered in a creamy sherry sauce and topped with cheddar cheese.
Add a side of ultra-yum bacon-chestnut-festive-sprouts, or braised apple & red cabbage to complete your best festive dinner!
